Bertrand Mandico preparing his new film, Paradis sale

After a series of short films and clips, in 2017 the French filmmaker received the Louis Delluc Prize for Les Garçons sauvages, tells the tale of five adolescent boys (all played by actresses) enamored by the arts, but drawn to crime and transgression. Naturally, we were closely watching for his new project, which, according to Cineuropa, will start shooting on November 12.

Paradis Sale- a title that sounds like a beautiful promise of visual and subversive oxymores – will be located on the chimeric planet After Blue, in the near future. A chimeric future on After Blue, a planet from another galaxy, a virgin planet where only women can survive in the midst of harmless flora and fauna. The story is of a punitive expedition.

A story of ostracisation in unknown territory, a moral narrative in the form of an allegorical fiction: we count on Mandico to once again pulverise all norms and offer us a queer utopia that we predict is playful and sensual. Mandico has requisitioned regulars as well as new faces to develop his cast: Elina Löwensohn, who is one of all his films, Vimala Pons and Pauline Lorillard (already in Les Garçons sauvages and Ultra Pulpe), Paula Luna Breitenfelder (for which this will be the first appearance), the Polish Agata Buzek (seen in Les Innocentes) Camille Rutherford, Anaïs Thomas and Claire Duburcq.
